With many tanks in the country lasting more than 100 years old, steel tanks have been proven to provide a long life. One issue facing the industry has been corrosion appearing above the water line in the vapor space. This presentation will show examples of issues that other owners have faced and the solutions that has solved the problems. Additional topics in the presentation will include coating and retrofit options to bring their tanks up to current code including seismic.
Participants will leave the class understanding the various options available to them to lower corrosion opportunities and make their coatings last much longer. Additional topics will include concrete water tanks and retrofitting options as well as a basic overview of concrete.
