Legislation

The Mojave Water Agency serves the community and local water purveyors by tracking and engaging in state and federal legislation that affects our region ranging from water quality to standards on daily use of water per household. Actions and activities include supporting or opposing legislation, testifying before committees, developing alliances with other statewide water agencies and local regional partners, and providing materials for local groups to directly participate in the legislative process.

This is a collaborative effort with MWA working with the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), State Water Contractors (SWC), California Municipal Utilities Association (CMUA), California Groundwater Coalition, state and federal elected officials, cities, the County of San Bernardino, large and small water utilities, and the Alliance for Water Awareness and Conservation (AWAC).

All bills of interest related to the Mojave Water Agency are discussed at the agency’s Legal, Legislative and Community Partners (LLCP) monthly meetings. The meetings are held in-person at Agency Headquarters on the fourth Tuesday of each month. They can also be viewed live online by visiting: https://www.mojavewater.org/about-mwa/agency-calendar/meetings/
