Morongo Basin Pipeline
Morongo Basin Pipeline
The Morongo Basin Pipeline has played a crucial role in protecting and enhancing precious groundwater resources in the basin, stabilizing local economies and improving residents’ quality of life.

Since water began to flow through the 71-mile length pipes in January 1995, the pipeline has continued to serve nearly 60,000 people and businesses over 455 square miles of the High Desert.

The underground pipeline delivers water to percolation ponds that act as natural filtration systems as the water seeps back into the ground to recharge the aquifer.

The pipeline became a reality because of the cooperative work of the Hi-Desert Water District, the Joshua Basin Water District, the Bighorn – Desert View Water Agency and San Bernardino County Service Area 70.
