MWA Projects
To fulfill our responsibility to ensure a long-term, balanced supply of water for the High Desert, Mojave Water Agency is engaged in a number of critical projects that focus on improving our ability to deliver State Water Project water and effectively manage existing native supplies.
  • Regional Water Management Plan:

    The three-phase plan focuses on increasing availability and reliability of ground and surface water resources; provides the foundation for future Agency projects and programs. more >

  • Mojave River Pipeline:

    Multi-phased project will ultimately deliver up to 45,000-acre feet of imported water a year to Mojave River communities. more >

  • Transition Zone Study:

    Defines geology and water supply characteristics of a key 14-mile stretch of the Mojave River to calculate future water demand in the adjudicated basin. more >

  • Este Sub-basin Hydrogeologic Investigation:

    The Mojave Water Agency has recently completed a two-year hydrogeologic study of the Lucerne Valley Region (Este Groundwater Basin). more >

  • Post 2020 Water Supply Options Report:

    Efforts to date for the Mojave Water Agency's 2004 Regional Water Management Plan have shown that water demands by the year 2020 are likely to stretch existing supplies to, and beyond their limits. more >

  • Morongo Basin Pipeline:

    A 71-mile, underground pipeline that delivers State Water Project water to nearly 60,000 people and businesses in the Morongo Basin. more >

  • Oro Grande Recharge:

    A pilot project consisting of four percolation ponds in the Oro Grande Wash, tests recharge rates in High Desert aquifers. more >

  • Groundwater Monitoring Wells:

    The monitoring wells allow the Agency to check water levels throughout its service area and anticipate supply and distribution needs before they become urgent. more >

  • 2005 Geophysical Investigations:

    Report on the Geophysical Investigations at the Oro Grande Wash, Antelope Wash and Green Tree Sites. more >
