In its drive to teach High Desert residents about the importance of water conservation and water resource management, the Mojave
Water Agency has a key ally in Victor Valley College (VVC). The Agency and longtime High Desert educational institution formed a
partnership in 2001 to further their mutual interest in improving regional water knowledge among students and residents.
Under the partnership, VVC has created a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) training program and laboratory in which MWA has
supplied equipment, data and industry expertise.
The two also collaborate on a number of water-related educational events each year, including the college’s annual plant sale,
which gives residents an opportunity to purchase drought-tolerant plants and learn about water wise landscaping practices.
